What do I need on the final?

How it works
Your class grade is the part you’ve already earned plus the final. The part you’ve earned counts for everything except the final’s weight, so: needed score = (goal − current grade × (1 − weight)) ÷ weight. For example, a current grade of 84, a final worth 25% and a goal of 90 means you need about 108%, which is not possible without extra credit. Aim for a B (80) and you need about 68%.
Before you trust it
- Use your current class grade from your syllabus or Canvas/iCollege, not an average of a few scores.
- Some professors drop your lowest score, curve, or round up. This calculator doesn’t know that, so check your syllabus.
- It’s an estimate to help you plan your study time, not an official grade. We’re not affiliated with any school.
