Privacy policy
Coursework (the website and the iPhone app) has no account and no database. Your classes, assignments, scores and notes are saved only in your own browser or on your own iPhone. We never receive them, so we can’t see, sell or share them.
What is stored, and where
Everything you type is saved in your browser’s local storage on the device you’re using. The site has no code that sends your list to us or anyone else. If you use a different browser or device, your list won’t be there. Clearing your browser’s site data deletes it.
What our host sees
The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any website host, Cloudflare processes basic technical information (such as your IP address and browser type) to deliver the pages and protect against abuse. We do not add analytics, ads, tracking pixels, cookies or third-party scripts. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Files you save
- Backup file (.json) and calendar file (.ics) are created on your device. Where they go after that (your Downloads folder, a calendar app, email) is up to you and handled by those apps.
- Restore from a backup reads the file inside your browser. It is not uploaded.
The iPhone app
- Where your list lives: in a file on your iPhone, in a folder shared only with the app’s own Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets. The app keeps one backup copy on the same iPhone. It is included in your iPhone’s own backups, which Apple manages. The app has no code that sends your list to us.
- Notifications (optional): reminders before things are due and at the start time you plan. They are scheduled on your iPhone and are never used for marketing.
- School calendar sync (Pro, optional): if you paste your school’s calendar feed link (for example from Canvas, iCollege/D2L, Blackboard or Moodle), the app downloads that calendar directly from your school’s website to your iPhone. The link and the downloaded items stay on your iPhone; they are never sent to us and are never included in backup files. Your school’s own privacy policy applies to their website.
- Purchases: Coursework Pro is sold through Apple. Apple processes the payment; we never receive your name, payment details or Apple ID. The app checks what you’ve bought using Apple’s StoreKit, which contacts Apple.
- The app does not use your location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone or health data, and has no ads, analytics or tracking.
Deleting your data
On the website, use Backup → Delete everything, or clear this site’s data in your browser settings. In the app, use Settings → Delete everything, or delete the app. There is no copy on our side to delete.
Children
Coursework is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone. Because neither the site nor the app sends list data to us, we hold no information about any user.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date above. If the site ever starts saving data anywhere other than your browser (for example, accounts or sync), we will update this policy first and ask before anything is sent.
